Charlene Sanchez, HIS

Hearing Instrument Specialist

Charlene grew up in Scarborough, Ontario. She completed her undergraduate degree at York University and then decided to pursue the hearing aid practitioner program via distance learning at MacEwan University, which is located in Edmonton, Alberta.

Initially, Charlene wanted to pursue a career in speech-language pathology. However, she was introduced to the world of hearing health while working during her college years. Charlene had seen firsthand how she could make an impact on a person’s life, and she decided to go back to school to become a hearing instrument specialist.

Charlene’s daily responsibilities at Brampton Hearing Aid Services include conducting hearing tests and hearing aid evaluations, fitting hearing instruments and providing follow-up care.

Every day, Charlene loves making a positive impact on someone’s life. She says knowing that she’s helped them to enjoy the things they used to enjoy again and rebuild relationships with their family members and friends is incredibly touching.

Outside of the office, Charlene enjoys spending time with her husband Radie, their two boys, Arie Alexander (6) and Arlo Rain (2), and their seven-year-old red Labrador Retriever Franklin (be sure to ask Charlene how he got his name the next time you see her!) – most likely at the nearest playground! Charlene also likes a good meal, drinks and laughter with her closest friends.

If you could have dinner with one person, who would you choose?

I would love to have dinner with my grandfather. I lost him 10 years ago and he was always so involved in my life. I would love to catch up on everything that has happened since – my accomplishments and failures and even have him get to know his great grandchildren. I know he would be so proud.

I wish I could say I’m an avid sports fan - but sadly I’m not. However, if I were to follow and cheer a team on it’d be the Toronto Raptors.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

The Philippines! I’d love to spend some time catching up with family and then dive into being immersed in the culture, learning more about my ethnic background and visiting the beautiful sights the country has to offer.
