Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist

Full-Time 6-Month Contract | Opportunity for Permanent Employment

Brampton Hearing Aid Services | Brampton, Ontario

$70,000–$100,000 annualized

Come work somewhere patients become people you actually know.

Brampton Hearing Aid Services is an independent hearing clinic that has been serving the Brampton community for decades.

We’re busy, we’re growing, and we’re looking for an Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist who genuinely enjoys people and wants to be part of a team that takes exceptional care of them.

This is initially a full-time, six-month position, but we’re growing and there is a real possibility for the right person to stay with us beyond the initial contract.

About BHAS

We’re not a corporate clinic.

We’re an independently owned practice where clinical decisions are made by clinicians, relationships matter, and our patients often stay with us for many years.

Our team includes experienced clinicians, dedicated administrative staff and clinical support. We work collaboratively, help each other when things get busy and care a lot about the experience patients have from the moment they walk through our doors.

We recently moved into a beautiful new clinic with four treatment rooms and two sound booths, giving our team plenty of room to grow.

The people you’ll be helping

Hearing care is about much more than an audiogram or a pair of hearing aids.

Our patients want to hear their grandchildren. They want to participate in dinner conversations instead of smiling when they didn’t hear the joke. They want to hear at work, at church, at the theatre and across the table from the people they love.

Sometimes they’ve been putting off dealing with their hearing for years.

Our job is to meet them where they are, listen to what matters to them and help them find a solution that actually improves their lives.

We’re looking for someone who feels the same way.

You might be our person if…

Your credentials matter. Your experience matters.

But who you are with patients and with your teammates matters just as much.

We’d love to meet you if people would describe you as:

• Warm, friendly and genuinely interested in people • Patient — especially when someone needs something explained for the third time • Clinically thorough without losing sight of the human sitting in front of you • Confident making recommendations without being pushy • A team player who notices when someone needs help and jumps in • Reliable and someone your coworkers can count on • Organized and attentive to details • Comfortable taking ownership when something doesn’t go as planned • Coachable and open to doing things differently • Positive, adaptable and able to laugh during a busy day

We take our work seriously. We don’t believe that means we have to take ourselves seriously all the time.

What you’ll do

As one of our clinicians, you’ll manage your own patients while working closely with the rest of our clinical team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Comprehensive adult hearing assessments • Otoscopy and appropriate clinical testing • Explaining results clearly to patients and their families • Hearing aid evaluations and individualized recommendations • Hearing aid fittings and programming • Real Ear Measurement and verification • Follow-up care and fine-tuning • Counselling and ongoing hearing rehabilitation • Hearing aid troubleshooting • Cerumen management where permitted by your scope of practice • Accurate clinical documentation • Completing ADP application forms and submitting claims and documentation • Completing required clinical documentation for WSIB and other third-party funding programs • Managing their own patient follow-up and outstanding clinical tasks • Working collaboratively with our clinical and administrative teams to provide an exceptional patient experience

We work with multiple major hearing aid manufacturers and see private-pay, ADP, WSIB and other third-party patients.

What you’ll need

You must be eligible to practise in Ontario as either:

A registered Audiologist OR a registered Hearing Instrument Specialist

Experience in private practice and hearing aid dispensing is an asset, but we’re more interested in finding the right clinician than checking every possible box.

Compensation

$70,000–$100,000 annualized, based on professional designation and experience. Salary will be prorated for the contract period.

One last thing…

If this sounds like the kind of clinic and team you’d like to be part of, but you don’t meet every single item on our wish list, please apply anyway.

Skills can be developed. The right attitude, kindness, work ethic and ability to connect with people are much harder to teach.

Send us your resume along with a short introduction telling us a little about yourself and why BHAS caught your attention.

We’d love to meet you.
